To commemorate MTI’s 30th anniversary, we asked employees to reflect on their time and share some of their favorite work memories. We received a wide range of memories, but holiday celebrations seemed to be the highlight and were regarded as a very special time for MTI employees. They love the decorations, the music, and the festive cheer. But most of all, they love the memories they make bringing everyone together.

Here are a few of the holiday work memories shared by MTI employees:

Valentine’s Day Memory
“A memorable holiday celebration for me was Valentine’s day. The office was excited as everyone prepared for a big Valentine’s day decorating competition. Everyone was eager to show off their creative sides as each department decorated their designated area(s). I recall a lot of laughter and good-natured ribbing as everyone worked to make their space look the best.”

Thanksgiving Memory
“I can still smell the delicious aroma of Thanksgiving dinner as I walked down the hall toward our lunchroom one year. It made my mouth water before I even saw all the food on the table! The best part was when we got to try everyone’s family recipes. My favorite dishes were the turkey, of course, but also the green beans, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie.”

Halloween Memory
“Halloween is the BEST at MTI! I recall many Halloween competitions throughout the years. The company would allow the departments to compete for the best Halloween decor/ theme. It was always a lot of fun and a great way to build team spirit.”

Birthday Memory
“My MTI family celebrates birthdays. I remember one year pulling into work on a Friday morning and being so excited to relax and celebrate my birthday over the weekend. Well, to my surprise, when I walked into my office on Friday, I saw it had been decorated with balloons, streamers, and a ‘Happy Birthday’ banner. My team made me feel so special and appreciated.”
